Interesting thing about this song. This is from the Ooooooriginal (as in 1959) Broadway Cast of The SOund of Music. In the movie, Maria sings My Favorite Things to calm the children during the thunderstorm. In the play, Maris sings it with the nuns to calm her own nerves about leaving the abby to be a governess to seven children. Later during the thunderstorm she sings Lonely Goatherd to the children.
